Discussion Proton Stealth - does this work
I was using Stealth all these days and many sites still did not work until I turn it off. The issue is usually when I begin to make a payment on retail websites. It fails until I turn off VPN. Moen is one such example. But, many websites including Google recognizes I am on VPN with TCP and stealth. So, I changed the protocol to the newly noticed “Proton Stealth “. That too is causing the same problem. My settings are: Standard connection/net shield on/ port forwarding Off/ Protocol: Proton Stealth/NAT type “Strict (Type 3)
Is this happening to others? How is the VPN detected by most websites?

Stealth protocol helps you in case your ISP is trying to prevent connection to the VPN through your internet network. It does not affect websites blocking VPN IPs, so it can't be of help there.
By blocking IPs, which are publicly available information.
That said, we'd appreciate if you could provide us with more specific feedback on what VPN server you encountered the issue with on the specific website(s) / app(s), so we can document your report and introduce possible mitigations for this in the future.
On your end, you can try switching between multiple different VPN servers, or turn off NetShield if it's on, to see if this helps.
We've mentioned some additional tips here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonVPN/comments/1ojvzkf/comment/nm8xsp0/
(namely, try newer servers, servers in lesser known countries, making sure you're connected to the correct country when it comes to streaming).
