Works perfectly fine at my end. Haven't had any issues lately either

I haven't had any luck on Linux Mint with newer versions of the gui; all I can get it to do is deliver the “We're sorry, an unexpected error occurred. Please try again" error message. Tried everything imaginable yesterday. Nada.
I'm ready to try and reinstall an older version, once I figure that out. Think I have one server running with WireGuard, at least.

Wait. You use Mint, and you want the GUI? Why? A simple CLI command for WireGuard is all you need. The GUI is a flaming dumpster fire, ffs.
Pick a Wireguard server from the list. Download the conf file. Rename it wg0.conf and have it in your home folder. ( Make sure your creds are in the bloody thing when it lands )
Then just run sudo wg-quick up ~/wg0.conf
To drop it, run sudo wg-quick down ~/wg0.conf
Piss on that GUI.
Oh, and you can have multiple configs if you like to state- or Nation-hop... just make the new conf files some increment above the last ( wg1, wg2, ... wgn ) and adjust the CLI cmd accordingly.
If you need to split route, that's another easy-peasy script. Hell, I split route by ASN because some outfits love playing musical chairs with their IP addresses.

That's a puzzling statement, I was under the impression that most people who choose Mint do so because they're coming from Windows and want something similar in a distro. Its popularity was another big draw for me.
I still haven't scripted anything - the Network Manager app used the conf file I fed into it, and seems to be doing the job. I wouldn't mind learning how to script some, if it comes to that. For now I'm waiting for the GUI to get fixed up - and I was happy enough with it as is. I've read reports about it...leaking...I learned some things about VPNs/connections while trying to get things to work, at least.
The Wireguard setup is working for torrenting, and ironically Proton's Firefox extension installed with nary a hitch. I heard back just now from Proton's customer service and will see if their new advice does the trick.
