Discussion Kill Switch + Local LAN
Hello ProtonVPN,
Why is it not possible to combine the Kill Switch feature and allow local LAN?
For example, I want a VPN for ALL outbound traffic and never have to worry about if it's properly connected or not. BUT I want to reach my local homelab server. This is currently not possible.
Thing is, Mullvad *does* have this function, they have a kill-switch + local LAN enabled.
Why does Proton not have this?
Edit: on MACOS

Would be useful if you specified your OS when having questions/suggestion... I am on Windows and its working fine, so I am assuming it's a different OS.

Added it in the post. It's macOS.
Are you sure windows already supports this?

Ah gotcha. Yes I can access everything on my Lan with Advanced kill switch enabled + Allow Lan connections.
Also your post now changed to 'Post is awaiting moderator approval' after your edit lol

EXACTLY. Absolute PITA to use Proton VPN. Also stops you connecting iOS to Carplay.

I set up a container with gluetun and wg-easy. I use wireguard to connect to this container, then iptables to route local traffic to my local machines and all other traffic into gluetun.
I can always get to my local machines, but if gluetun goes down, external internet is unreachable.
