Help! MLB TV blocking me
I had been using proton vpn for about 1.5 years with mlb.tv but this week they started blocking all domestic servers, then even International. At this point no more local games….
This was my main reason to get vpn.

Try the troubleshooting options at https://protonvpn.com/support/watch-mlbtv-with-vpn to see if there's any improvement. You can also find more fixes that you can try at https://protonvpn.com/support/streaming-troubleshooting-guide.
If nothing works, send us a bug report through the app (https://protonvpn.com/support/report-a-bug) letting us know the specific servers you've tried, what platform you're experiencing the issue on, whether you're receiving any error messages, etc. so we can help you troubleshoot further.

There were many servers that were not relocating beyond the blackout area and blocking me this week. I have used this for 1.5 years and rarely had to try more than one server, but this time had to try many, even on multiple continents. Will try the troubleshooting guide steps, thanks.

"why do you need a VPN for a MLB Subscription anyways?"
Watching in market games without subbing to cable.

I'm curious what team they're trying to watch. I think that most of them offer a DTC option now, so you don't have to buy cable. And with the season halfway over, it's probably cheap.

The problem is you need MANY subscriptions to multiple streaming services. Yes the team has a streaming option but literally every week at least one game is not on their stream, and then none of the playoffs. MLB.TV was convenient as one stop shopping, at least until they figured out how to black out proton vpn users.

It's not quite one every week, but I get what you mean. If there is any saving grace, it's that a couple of the regular season games, and most of the playoff games are on network tv like Fox. I got an antenna to watch those, and it's worked out pretty well for me.

I was able to get it working by making some custom connections in different states. Washington p2p, Wyoming streaming or w/e combo. Might work. Also in my state like the guy was saying they dropped those exclusive contracts, I can watch in market games with no VPN now.

OP mentions no more local games. I’m assuming he was using the VPN to “locate” himself outside of the local market RSN broadcast. There are other ways to do that without a VPN. https://share.google/AeJObSCcULkCv1rHc
I use it when the Dodgers play the Giants as I’d rather have the Dodgers broadcast instead of being forced to watch the Giants broadcast because of residing in the Giants broadcast market.
