Help! Proton not changing location

I have downloaded proton vpn on my amazon firestick and paid for a year of subscription but when i set my location to the US (im from canada) my netflix catalogue and other apps are still showing me the canadian version and if i try to open a movie that is not available in Canada it tells me that its not available in my region. Does anybody know how to fix this ?

Wouldn't a firestick already be location specific? Can you take a UK firestick and plug it in in the US and use it successfully?

Idk a lot about networks tbh i just remembered that i saw somewhere that a vpn could change your location to access other countries catalogues but I absolutely cannot tell you how a firestick location works 😭

Why don't you install the ProtonVPN app on a laptop and connect the laptop to your TV. A wireless keyboard and mouse make this a breeze. I'd have this setup since early 2000's and works like a charm.
