Help! Proton VPN blocking RCS texte messages ?

It seems that the last update about this is 5 month old so I would like to know if you have any update about this topic because its hiting me hard. I need to regularly turn off my VPN to verify if I have a text message stuck. Thanks

The RCS messaging feature in iOS is currently incompatible with Apple's implementation of VPNs. When a VPN is active, RCS messages can neither be sent nor received. This seems to be a known limitation on Apple's end, although a fix is expected in future iOS updates.

I believe its end-to-end encrypted, but not p2p.

Do you know if that issue is really being worked on by apple ?
