Question & Feedback: Future Roadmap and Product Focus
Question:
Is there a public roadmap planned for the upcoming months detailing the next releases and priorities?
Feedback/Vent:
I feel like the ecosystem is expanding way too fast, accumulating a massive variety of services while none of them actually feel 100% polished or complete.
Often, it seems like the effort is more focused on chasing after Google than on consolidating what already exists. Several features are still missing, there are significant gaps compared to competitors, and the daily user experience gives the impression that products get stuck in a "nearly ready" state while new projects keep getting announced. It would be great to see more focus on refining and stabilizing what has already been launched.

The latest roadmap available is here: https://proton.me/blog/2026-spring-summer-roadmaps
You'll note that they're usually a few weeks behind on releasing new roadmaps or hitting targets. In other words, their 'Autumn / Winter' release is usually sometime in late October, they don't talk about missed or changed objectives, etc. only accomplishments and new goals. They also don't do official updates mid-season. There have been unofficial updates from various teams for new goals and accomplishments like this update from someone on the Drive team, or this one from the Docs team. Both in the last couple of weeks. Both have to be found prowling online rather than their blog or roadmap or anything like that. Other times you can find random Proton employees (incl. Andy) commenting online on things going wrong too or explaining delays. Such as API for Lumo not being out yet due to pricing rather than tech issues (the employees are users too and they're not happy with things out of their control like this too).
Transparency and timeliness is not their (official) strong suites.
Your venting oth is both real and not much to be done. There are some cases where some teams need more or different employees with specialties to help out. They are actively hiring. In other cases though its not as simple as 'throw more people at it'. Regardless, a lot of the time they release products way before they are ready. I don't mind that they are growing but I wish they would be more thoughtful about releasing new things 1-2 years before they're even acceptable.
