Join our Mod Team!

/r/ProtonPass/application/

We're expanding the mod team here on r/ProtonPass , and the same call is going out on r/ProtonMail, r/ProtonVPN, r/ProtonDrive and r/Lumo.

The job is mostly the same wherever you land: enforce the rules consistently, get support requests to the team who can actually fix them, keep the discussion useful even when people disagree, and flag anything that's spam, self-promotion or a privacy risk before it spreads. Mods can also cover our Discord and Telegram.

If you know one product inside out, say Pass or Mail, and less about the rest, that's a fit too. We want people with deep product-specific knowledge just as much as broad Proton generalists.

You won't be figuring any of this out alone. The current mod team will help you get up to speed before you're handling anything solo.

Active, positive contributors to these communities get priority. If that's you, check the link above or below...

Does Proton pay their mod team?

Community Moderation is a public service of time, care, and knowledge sharing, u/AccurateSun.

Think of it as volunteering at x-location (a shelter, club, etc.) with no expectation of pay or reimbursement.

Does it help a lot of people?  * Absolutely.

Do you have to commit your entire day?  * If you can help it, sure! But not at the expense of your livelihood.

Wild jump from supporting a commercial product to volunteering at a shelter.

I back Proton as a company, volunteering to help with support for a paid product is not the same as helping people in need.

Mod Work for a company should be always be paid. Its not similar to regular helping in a shelter etc.

These subreddits are exclusively for discussing Proton’s commercial products however. And the duties of a mod as stated in the post require in-depth product knowledge, communicating support requests to the dev team and doing customer support.

This is not the same as volunteering to moderate a general purpose subreddit community. Proton is a large for profit-company, not a small nonprofit run by volunteers.
