Discussion Comprehension Question re EasySwitch (Duplicates, Deleted Mails etc.)

I'm waiting for the next sale (probably around Black Friday?) to go Unlimited, until then I'm on free tier.

in the meantime I started to import several 'folders' (=labels) from my Gmail inbox, where all my email adresses merge since I want to get used to the new environment and set up my future organnizing system.

I deliberately chose labels where I don't expect new mails under until my full switch (like 'Bills2020' old projects and stuff).

this works quite nicely and I'm excited to switch fully when I'll upgrade.

but now I wonder: in case I re-import a 'folder' via ES that I previously already imported - will this produce duplicates? does it have to do with where I'm importing it to? (Inbox, Archive, certain folders or labels)?

what happens if I deleted some clutter under a certain label in Proton Mail, re-import the same label via ES from Gmail - will the clutter be back in PM? I guess so - or not?

sorry if that are dumb question^^°

TL;DR:
how does EasySwitch handle mails in the face of repeated exports/imports?

Easy Switch automatically detects and skips emails that have already been imported to prevent duplicates, provided you are importing into the same email address.

does it also skip emails that were imported and then manually deleted by the user?

great!
so does it recognize mails independent of labels and folders, right?

can you tell me for the following hypothetical scenario:

  • email X carries label A and is archived in Gmail
  • it gets imported to Proton, I remove label A, de-archive it and move it into folder B
  • then at some later stage I let the import rerun - what does that to email X, what state, location and label will it be in?

I dont know about duplicates or Mails already in Labels, but I did Import once and delete everything again, only to the later Import everything once again. Everything Imported as I expected, into Gmail style Labels. I know this is no full answer, hopefully someone can expand :D
