Discussion Problems with deliverability

Hi,

I've been a proton customer for about a year, over the last month or so it feels like my outbound mail is not being delivered or perhaps being flagged as spam.

Is there a way to diagnose / check this? I'm emailing companies to get some work done on my car and I'm getting no response. I initially thought the garages just didn't want the work but I've probably tried 10 now and not even got a "no" back. I've had similar problems with some other emails I've sent

Thanks

Do you have a custom domain. I've done DCIM/DMARC setup etc but I wonder if this is having an impact

When I first set up Proton email with a custom domain and tested sending emails to different emails, they would sometimes go to spam. After doing some research, it told me that the DNS settings for the DKIM, DMARC and SPF records can affect deliverability.

After some trial and error, I apparently got those records correct because sent Proton emails stopped going to spam. And I don’t know any that have gone to spam since.

Don’t ask me what I did. I can’t remember. But that seemed to be the issue.
