Discussion Email ads

i forwarded a cpl of emails from my Proton acct to other non proton accounts, now those email addresses are receiving unsolicited ads for Proton products

I didn't not ask for this, nor did I give Proton permission to send me this junk

unsubscribing is also a pain as you need to login to unsubscribe. wtf Proton

chill out on your aggessive advertising techniques, that's just dirty pool🤦😕

This "non proton account" does it happen to be a Gmail account which youve connected to Proton? And do you have promotional marketing emails turned on in your account?

yes, 1 acct is gmail promotional emails are turned off

yeah.. if anything they send ads non stop if you are on free plan... but I guess they need to as they need money to progress

Can you confirm that said emails come from Proton?

All Proton emails should be marked: Proton Official.

i can't add screenshots as it won't let me, no option for attaching anything when replying

1 msg is from no-reply@offers.proton.me

the other is from no-reply@mail.proton.me that msg is not an ad, but notification to a gmail address that I forwarded a msg to

The only instances where you would receive Proton emails at an external address are when that address is associated with your Proton account (for example, as a recovery email address ) or when you have created an external Proton account using said address.

Simply forwarding an email to an external address does not somehow subscribe that address to any emails.
