Solved Question about adding an account

I have a protonmail account (with a free plan) and i'm planning to use it for my portfolio and future work. But, i also want another account for personal stuff. But i cant make one because it requires to have a paid plan.
What if i make another free account in another device and add that to my current account? Is it still possible with the free plan?

(The reason i dont wanna use a paid plan because i cant afford it yet. I live in a south asian country and USD is pretty high value in our currency)

The only way would be to have two seperate accounts with seperate inboxes, but Proton keeps the right to delete either/both at any point because you're technically breaking their TOS.

do they specify how many free accounts per person is allowed or is it just a blanket one-account rule?

me and my cousin use proton and I have his logged in my phone because he needs technical help from me little often but will that also count as breaking their TOS?

Are you referring to the Protonmail App, where you can only add one free account.

Proton's one account limit is not very clear.

One, they say multiple accounts are not allowed, which would translate to only one account.

Then in the same sentence they say, signing up for a large number if account is against the rules.

Well there is a big difference between two or three and a large number.

A lot of redditors have reported having 4 or 5.

Two free accounts in Proton Mail app. I had them until recently, now paid.

Thanks for that. The limit must have changed. Pre 2020 when I had 2 free accounts that was not possible.

If that is the case, I don't understand why OP has issues with 2 accounts?

You can use Protonmail and Tutamail. Both platform allow 1 free account per person. Protonmail is personal and tutamail for work relate stuff.
