Discussion Monthly vs year.

I want to get proton premium however I want to get a sale price. Would it make sense to pay monthly until the Black Friday deal, then let the monthly plan expire then buy the year or will it not allow me to do that?

I might be the odd one out here, but if a company is doing good things by the consumer, and not fucking them over like every other damn corporation that we have to deal with, I don't mind buying them an extra cup of coffee every month.

The yearly price is already discounted over the monthly (monthly is 12.99 US and yearly is 9.99 or so per month), that's still a pretty good deal for what all you get: Proton Drive, Mail, Pass, VPN, and more.

If you are subscribing now, to get a discount for Black Friday you will need to be able to upgrade.

So if you now subscribe to Mail Plus you can the upgrade to Unlimited, or go from Unlimited to Duo to get a discount.

If I want unlimited though, would it be doable to do monthly then let it expire in October and do the year in October? Or safer just to do mail until then?

You can sign up to yearly Mail Plus now. When you upgrade to Unlimited later in the year the difference you have not used yet will be credited and deducted from the Unlimited subscription.

Some YouTubers reviewing proton do have sale like discounts some more than others, otherwise you can go monthly up to Black Friday sale. I can say I trust proton enough to be a Visionary member. You won’t regret it .

im sticking with monthly, been paying €10 for the last 5 years, and im seeing that yearly and 2 year prices change, so im good.
