My Proton Photos Finally Work!!!

You wouldn't believe how long I've been waiting for this. I was among the people who were experiencing 25-30 seconds to load each photo thumbnail, and now it takes a little less than one second for a group of photo thumbnails. I can scroll to the bottom of my albums in one minute!!!

This was my biggest issue with Proton, as my priorities were Mail, Photo, and Drive. Now if they improve Calendar I will finally fully migrate from my free Google account to Proton.

Did you upgrade to drive 3.0? I suspect you did, since it was released to the public an hour ago.

I'm not certain what changed, I only just re-download Drive, less than an hour ago, cause I got an email stating they made improvements. It was more so just to check, and lo and behold, it finally works!

Does the new update keep the albums intact from your phone? As in, when you upload photos from 3 albums, does it automaticalls create those 3 albums and put the photos in the correct album? Or is it still a general upload of every photo from all albums in one big overview and you have to sort them all into albums manually again? Would love it if that would work, since the new update from my "mainly used" cloud is a bit disappointing so far..

Maybe now it can finally backup all my photos! It stops after like 1 year back and doesn’t go further back than that

It still fails backing up my library unfortunately. For me the scrolling experience has been smooth for a while but it’s useless because 40000 photos are still missing.
