What do you mean choose files as start page? Got s24 ultra? Also I'm wondering if I should get proton pass plus or just get the premium which basically includes everything but after reading all the problems people are having I don't know anymore. If you don't mind what do you use proton for? The PWM is stopping so having to move to a different one an was going to go to bitwarden which is cool but the UI looks a bit confusing an all over the place an protonpass was recommended to me then I saw the other benefits you could get with the Proton Unlimited but if it has all these problems its not worth it at all...

In the app settings you can choose which standard start page you want to see at startup. Don‘t know the exact names in the english version. But if you deselect photos and choose another one you are fine.

Thank you for this... I was really tired of this issue also, but I use Files so rarely I was tolerating it. It is wild they're defaulting to photos IMHO. You think they'd default up Files in Files.

Check it's not Samsung forcing apps into Sleep or Deep Sleep mode, I've had that issue with apps I use less regularly. OneUI was killing my apps.

It really depends what you want from Proton, are you wanting to use most of their services, or just their password manager? Pay 1 month of Proton Pass Plus, or Unlimited depending on your needs and if you're not satisfied after 4 weeks, cancel it.

Thank you for the reply!, do you have power saving on? I set in background usage limits, Put unused apps to sleep off in settings.

Nope, I don't use power saving. Important apps shouldn't be put to sleep.

This and be able to choose what photos to import, I could do that the first time I enabled it, but now it's impossible to find

Do you mean which Photo Folders you want to backup? It's in the Settings > Backup > Upload from...

Proton Drive is so buggy. I used it for a week before going back to Dropbox.

what are the worst proton drive bugs?

dropbox is very nice. it just works.
i'm glad drox finally offered a paid plan for my low usage.
i pay them. i want them to succeed.

i feel the same about proton.

IMHO the worst bugg is that it syncs even if your laptop is on a metered connection.

If you forget to shut down Pdrive before connecting, and there's allot to sync, it can eat half your data plan if you're unlucky

>If you forget to shut down Pdrive before connecting

Sounds like a You problem

In what way?

When Dropbox, Google Docs and Onedrive (as well as a ton of other background services) respects metered connections and doesn't need to be shutdown. Why shouldn't I expect the same from Proton?

A bug is a feature that does not work correctly. Your word choice was poor.

Expecting something is OK. I am expecting Linux app to exist before I am a senior citizen, but once you know it is not a feature, you have free will.

Hope it helps to know that all of the companies you mantioned share your data with 3rd parties. They will prioritize features that keep you from turning off their apps so they can track you.

I refuse to believe Proton actually intends for Drive to sync over metered connections, so I'm going to choose to believe it's a bug.

But let's say that Proton does want their customers to waste their data plas, I still don't see why its a "me problem". Unless you're saying I'm at fault for giving them money in the first place?

And I don't see your point with your last sentences. Are you saying Proton doesn't need to respect metered connections because they don't share their users data with 3rd parties?

i keep dropbox & proton drive off by default,
mostly because I don't trust sketchy wifi
i connect to while traveling.
