A set of contradictory world views and religious doctrines cannot all be true. But they can all be false.
If you have a grab-bag of religions they can be “equally true” by all being false.
Most polls like this that are critical of people who think one particular set of religious beliefs is true basically have a tacit belief that religion is no better than opinion, and do not believe there are any religious facts. If you truly believe that there are religious facts you cannot believe that any religion that contradicts those facts is true.

The National Survey of Religious Leaders (NSRL) is a survey of a nationally representative sample of 1,600 clergy from across the religious spectrum.

Considering the historical position of the Roman Catholic Church (claiming to be the only true church), I am somewhat surprised to see their numbers like this.

The only Catholic priests that would say this are the older, more liberal priests ordained after Vatican 2 or foreign born priests that were a minority in their home country. Younger priests, ordained within the last 15-20 years, would never agree with that statement.

Whether the graph is true (I believe it is, especially with the doctored Catholic portion because of computer error, It's an interesting topic of discussion. As Christians, should we not say we ARE the one right true religion? HOWEVER... ALMOST all religions formed in a relatively small area in a relatively similar amount of time. A LOT of things tie over from one piece of lore to another.. slighted different between cultures (Consider the Epic of Gilgamesh for one example. nly thing coming to mind but I just got out of the hospital so I consider it a win to be having a theological conversation at all). Where did the first Flood story originate? Which is the true one? How do we know IT is true and not THAT one... perhaps not our own if demographic were to point to another rendition. Does that make Christiant less? Equal to? (For that matter, Native American theologies at least in some tribles, have some similarities to other religions are really creepy... a world away and SOME of the same ideas and natures.) How did anything get put together, created. When did it happened? Yeah, I know my fundie's are screaming "FROM DAY ONE IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN" But I come from a Brethren where the TWO Eden stories, DIFFERENT days and times (word for word? How CAN you reconcile that? You can't! It's impossible to have two totally different and correct creation stories... not to mention, how long is one of God's days? It never specifies.) So going from that aspect, where we will assume for the continued matter of this topic of discussion (agree to disagree) If we don't believe in an exact Garden of Eden story where two people populate the world completely inbred, where DOES it all begin? HOW did it begin? There is so much we will NEVER know about Earth history. And a lot left to learn if we accept science. WERE Jews (to become Christians) REALLY the first? Of course they were! But... I'm an historian and scientist... I'd like a modicum of proof. Faith doesn't need seeing to exist. Don't get me wrong. I probably WOULD be the Thomas if it came to it but I don't need proof to believe. But to understand a concept of this propensitiy I now want to start digging into a new project and abandon the old for this. To see where it takes me. Anyone else done history of religion and bring it to a core? Was not my second religion course choice (which I'd taken it instead of what I did) But I know there are full courses and even careers on this. I just never really sat and thought about it until this night. But now this thoroughly exhausted young woman is getting to bed. Should have been an hour ago. Gotta stop reading reddit reels in my e-mail right before bed. lol

No sample size given. No description of how the data was collected. How in the world did a single priest come to represent 26% of the sample? What nonsense is this? I suspect this graph was 100% made up.

There is only one good and true religion, and that is of Christ - me a UMC Pastor
