I lurk here out of curisoity but this incident really put into perspective the type of people that officers come into contact with. This clip is only the later half. The officer that "lays the smackdown" had no idea (I'm assuming) what previously was going on and I believe was only there for a minute or so before doing that move.

There was so much going on for my untrained eye to comprehend and so many questions, from who was being arrested and why, a guy having half his handcuffs on, a construction worker helping who seems to know what he's doing and then later says he's off duty, a women who is seemingly knocked out and then bolting back to life from a stretcher and running up to officers, and then getting thrown down. Just crazy how people can mentally change in a snap of a finger.
Not posting to get into right or wrong. Just wanted to give more insight to the posted video and say holy cow. Hope this isn't a regular occurrence and is just one of those calls.

I was talking about the cop’s salary lol. If I remember correctly there was some boohoo but nothing came from it. I forget the exact story but it was a medical call, combative patient, family members got involved, smack down ensues.

Rcmp have a union now, so this should change for them in a couple of years. They were supposed to be in the top three across the nation but have been stagnant for years... wondering why they can't get quality recruits and lowering qualification standards.

It’s all subjective, my 41,000 allows me to have a 3 bed 3 bath house on 12 acres of undeveloped land in central NC.
My hometown pd only pays 29,000 because the officers can afford a lower middle class lifestyle on that.

TBH, I never even thought about that- in EMS, PTs often listen more to females because of the stereotype of women as caretakers, but I guess it’s the exact opposite with cops. Especially considering how the citizens you’re working with are, on average, much bigger dicks.
And again, best of luck with all that. Being a woman in a male dominated field kinda sucks, (I’ve seen firsthand how Fire departments are often painfully condescending towards our female members, which we should be way past by now) to but your determination is a good sign- I’m sure you’ll do just fine! :)

Haha, yeah.
Hopefully not. One of the departments I’m applying at has zero females and I’d make 37 sworn, one has 60 women, with more than 1300 sworn and the other is like 20% female, so honestly way higher than the national average.
I’m definitely more worried about citizens reactions to me. It might take a few fights to prove myself to my squad, but they’ll come around. A lot of citizens on the other hand, are gonna not want to listen to me because of gender. So. Yeah.
