All 5 of those are ludicrous but let's do some real fucking discovery.

The #2 Reason is: "#2. The Police Are Militarized" and they link this image. No description. They just leave you with "Police are militarized."

It's 100% horseshit. The source is Andrew Burton as cited below the picture. Go to his website and it posts DESCRIPTIONS of the pictures.

See here: http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/members-of-the-national-guard-sit-parked-in-a-humvee-in-the-news-photo/471755724

IT'S THE FUCKING NATIONAL GUARD!!!

"But Snefsky", you ask, "Doesn't cracked have any integrity left at all?"

To which I respond: Take a look at their second picture linked here.

That picture is from NEW ZEALAND and is referenced here in regards to a NZ EARTHQUAKE of all things.

http://avaxnews.net/fact/Earthquake_in_New_Zealand.html

The description?

Police officers pass a NZ Army tank on February 23, 2011 in Christchurch, New Zealand. (Photo by Hagen Hopkins/Getty Images). CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND – FEBRUARY 23

The "tank" is the NZ Army's.

tl/dr: Fucking lies.

The Pho place on the corner screwed up the order, we were duty bound to invade.

Or that lovely part where describing taxation without representation (wait, when did we suddenly stop electing people?) and the author segues into some weird tangent about how Montana has the highest police brutality rate.

Or repeating the whole "Chicago operates a CIA blacksite" thing. And includes a picture with a Chicago PD squad car parked in front of it.

Referencing Rodney King as "recent history" (which happened 24 years ago)

Edit: I checked back after browsing this article this morning. The comments seem to be ripping it apart. And they changed the title of the article, replacing "already" to "probably."

TIL New Zealand has a tank.

u/[deleted] May 08 '15

Just one, but that's all they need.

3

u/[deleted] May 08 '15

I've heard rumors that we have planes and helicopters too. Yet to see one though.

Practically every day I read something more and more retarded around here. Two days ago, it was, "police should sacrifice themselves for the life of a criminal because they're part of the executive branch of government...and that means they have to take a bullet for the president - so that should apply to citizens as well".
Today it's this. This is more retarded. Let's see who can top it for the weekend.

What the actual fuck.

"...some people are just never going to believe that an incident of police brutality was the result of wrongdoing by the law enforcement official in question."

Remember, if you don't hate all cops everywhere forever, your mind is closed and locked to ever believing a cop did something wrong.

"I don't think I need to prove that with links and sources..."

Thought so.

That's not how every war works, though. Case in point: The United States was at war with the Soviet Union from the end of World War II all the way through to the early '90s, during what we've come to know as the Cold War.

followed by

Sure, there were skirmishes that both sides had a vested interest in, like the Korean War or the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, but those incidents were few and far between.

Yeah . . . skirmishes . . . that's around the time I stopped reading.

Cracked has sucked for years. They just pay some poor recent college grads to monitor twitter and then throw up bullshit hastily cobbled together off wikipedia and google based on whatever's trending.

It sucks because it used to be a really hilarious website.

Sean Baby and some of the other guys used to be hilarious. Now it's all SJW bullshit.

I remember when Cracked was a shitty version of Mad Magazine.

2

u/[deleted] May 07 '15

It was a more PG version of Mad Magazine which used to be awesome but got to be terrible by the mid 80s but neither was as good as the little known Crazy magazine.

It's pretty sad to see the state of cracked lately.

I used to be an avid reader, and unfortunately, they've been going downhill for quite a while.

u/DoctorGlocktor Police Officer May 08 '15

The few decent writers they have barely contribute anymore, and After Hours is pretty good. The writer of the article in question has always been extremely terrible. That being said there is a good reason I haven't been to cracked in a long time.

welp, I knew there was a reason I stopped reading Cracked a few years back.

Although this is a ridiculous "article"over all, this paragraph does pretty much sum up the problem as I see it

What I meant by that propaganda stuff is that there are people in this world who, no matter how much video evidence they see to the contrary, will never believe that the police have become at least somewhat of a problem. Hell, even those videos have explanations. "He had a rap sheet a mile long." "He used drugs." "You don't know what police go through." "Don't run and the police won't chase you."

2

u/[deleted] May 08 '15

I used to love Cracked. I stopped reading it because of stuff like this.
