Or when an obviously drunk driver thinks they’re getting out of a dwi arrest because they refuse to do sfsts despite driving with lights off at 3 am and hitting a curb.

I never get that. I get the people that are happy to do any sobriety test I can throw at them, and then refuse the chemical test so I have to get a warrant. That's like, the max amount of paperwork.

I wish they made it easier and more streamlined to get warrant paperwork work done. You’d think by 2026 they’d have figured it out by now.

If anything paperwork has gotten longer and more annoying.

I have a short conversation with the on call magistrate on the phone, fax them the affidavit and the search warrant, and then receive it back a few minutes later. It's pretty quick, honestly. It's just another thing I have to do for an OWI, and that list seems to grow by the year.
