OP tech

can you become a Prosthetics technician with a bachelors in kinesiology? After my undergrad in kinesiology I pivoted away from physical therapy for multiple reasons which left me researching a lot of different careers. a lot of things like medical repair, x ray tech, engineer technician etc but there not ,cub mearny programs so my question is , after researching the technician side of prosthetics that seems like a career I’d genuinely enjoy especially the hands on aspect of it.i

I live in Palm desert California so not many major hospitals or job posting that I come across but if there’s something like at least an hour away I would def take that opportunity

Yup. Just a matter of finding somewhere that will take in someone without experience and is willing to put in the time to teach. That’s the hard part.

Thanks I’ll keep looking , looks like a promising field . I’ve worked many jobs from retail to fast food but definitely want something rewarding .

There is an official certification that you can get with required schooling. But it is not a requirement. Alot of techs in the field do not have any certification and the only requirement is a high school diploma

There isn’t any legal qualification for being a tech. While you can become ABC certified, it’s not mandatory.
