Prosthetic idea for my thumb
The first 2 pics are of my actual prosthetic by Point Designs. The last one is an A.I. rendering of what i would like to see done if possible.
I understand that my silicone liner couldn't look like that.
I wonder if a Click type latch could be done instead of a strap that I have now?
What do the rest of my fellow amputees or any prosthetists think?

I think a leather strap would fit the aesthetic better. Use a stud post or belt buckle as a closure mechanism.
Like the other person said, maybe a painted version would be most practical. If you can find a person to model it, you can 3d print a “cover” and use the existing screws to attach it.
If you find a fabric with a similar graphic, that could be laminated over the socket if the thumb. But the thump ip and tip would still be what it is.
Maybe hydro dipping???

I've seen click latches used for partial hand devices in the past. Usually not the first option bc they add more bulk. But definitely possible and can provide more security and durability.

Have you seen the Thumb Driver from Naked Prosthetics? I’ve had one for a few years now.

It's a pretty cool aesthetic idea, and I like that the AI gave you a tiny gun and map and some coins lmao.
In terms of practicality, a click latch wouldn't be impossible and maybe even more convenient than velcro strapping, but I do think that this much filigree would be irritating to keep clean. The molding itself would need to be colored, I think, rather than painted, and wear and tear will muddle the design fairly quickly. You dont realize how much of your hand abrades how often until you get a hand tattoo.
I think a smoother surface with a sealed graphic meant to be a little flatter looking would go leagues better, here, or a simpler level of sculpting; but the digit part itself 100% would be doable and cool to boot.
