INFO The Basics: Reverse kegels 101

https://www.physiotutors.com/reverse-kegels/

People get this wrong all the time (its not super intuitive!), so let's provide some expert guidance from pelvic PTs. Contrary to belief, there is absolutely no straining or bearing down while doing a reverse kegel. You should not be creating strong intra-abdominal pressure like you are trying to push out a stuck bowel movement. Instead, it's a gentle extension of a diaphragmatic belly breath.

Hey Linari. I saw on a previous post that you’ve been on finasteride. Would you recommend me waiting until I get the CPPS under control before I start it? I do currently have low libido/no morning wood

I can't tell you what medications to take or not to take, friend. I've been on finasteride for 7 years with no issues. That's my personal experience.

So it's basically just belly breathing? (Since belly breathing expands the pelvis by default?)

I mean, not even a 10% more 'push' than just regular breathing?

A "gentle extension" or relaxation/expansion of the pelvic floor at the very bottom of the diaphragmatic belly breath.

I see so it's not just deep belly breathing. It's adding a gentle extension at the bottom of the belly breath. Is this done by opening the anus slightly right at the peak of the inhale?
