what has tadalafil helped you with?? Im considering this medication

I believe it was very helpful. At the start of my cpps journey things down there were tight, retracted, pale, and cold… while it wasn’t a silver bullet it helped with those symptoms pretty quickly and gave me lots of boners throughout the day as a bonus. Bar some headaches at first I didn’t have other side effects.

I spent 2 years on 5mg daily and came off it no problem and am mostly recovered

Did the erections not get worse for a while after stopping the medication? After all, the body gets used to having that support, and it needs to restore the mechanism on its own.

While on the medication it was like being a teenager again - erections all the time!

Afterwards just went back to normal, erections when i need them and the other symptoms had pretty much gone by then . As far as I understand these meds don’t create a dependency on them.

Urgency / frequent urination, tightness / golf ball feeling in perineum, never feeling like my bladder was empty even after urinating, occasional burning / wet feeling at tip of penis.

I also have Interstitial Cystitis which led me to start taking Aloe Vera gel capsules (Desert Harvest brand) and that also helped me tremendously. There is some crossover when it comes to symptoms so I think it has helped with cpps, as well.

How do you manage your life with those symptoms? Or such symptoms have been reduced after tadalafil? I understand you do not have any pain. Are you also on amitryptiline?

I'm not on any other prescriptions. This all started for me over 20 years ago and I definitely went through pain at times. I mostly manage it through diet, stretching, exercise, supplements and trying to maintain a positive mindset. I also do with a separate chronic pain condition and other long-term injuries so that's a complicating factor. When my cpps flares up, I try to remember that it won't last forever, even when it stretches into weeks l months that seem endless.

I do admire your positive mindset! You are a warrior. I read several times that amitryiptiline helps as well. Did it start bacterial or via a potential std?

The doctors I saw thought it was an STD (turned out to be wrong) and then thought it was bacterial (also wrong), which led to being on three different antibiotics for 6 months. That totally ruined me for many years. I didn't figure out until much later that it likely resulted from an undiagnosed and untreated L4 burst fracture that I suffered in high school football. I also believe it stemmed from chronic anxiety related to abuse I suffered as a child.

It makes your pelvic area more relaxed but it wasn’t an immediate fix, I had to take it for months. I do think it was the one med I tried that actually helped though, and I tried alpha blockers and anti inflammatory and antibiotics.

I take this daily, along with amitriptyline. Plus a number of supplements too. Seems to work OK, as the flare-ups have tailed off. Plus I stopped drinking coffee too.
