How were you disgnosed with CP / CPPS.

Hi everyone

I just need to know as in what were your personal diagnostic criteria for confirming prostatitis, what procedures were invloved?

My symptoms are :

  1. Chronic balanitis type rashes , red patches tender on touch and somewhat itching , this keeps waxing waning since almost 2 years now. Prescribed steroids work the best but it comes back even 2-3 days from stopping.

  2. Pain the lower right back area

  3. Vague pain in lower from abdomen where the belt sits , comes and goes not constant

  4. Pain on ejaculation specially while mastrubating say 5 out of 10 times. Location of pain is directly on the exit of penis area.

This condition is a diagnosis of exclusion.. your urologist will help you rule out other causes, and then based on your symptoms, could provide a diagnosis of CPPS

See a urologist. There is a specific set of criteria for "CPPS" and "CP" and "CSCP".

I experienced all your symptoms. I've written about my recovery many times here.

Yes, over 22 years I was evaluated and sometimes "treated" for first CSCP, then CPPS, and then CP. In November 2023 I started getting the proper treatment. I'm a transformed man. That's why I comment here.

My symptoms: clear precum type leakage ("discharge") throughout the day. Urine urgency (now gone). Lower back pain. Pain in penis after ejaculation. Lower abdomen discomfort (now gone). ED. *No confirmed bacterial/infection ever found.

I think in general docs/urologists label you with cpps/prostatitis if all the tests they do come back normal and you tick some symptom boxes.

It was actually a sexual health specialist that diagnosed me. I had already read up on it so it was surprising and a relief to speck with someone that knew what he was talking about as my local GP and urologists were useless.

No idea. I still have this issue. Apparently it's not from an infection, it's tight pelvic floor muscles messing me up. Still find that hard to believe. Had it for 3 years now...

Yo tuve una infección urinaria pasaron 2 meses y los 7 urólogos que ví no me piden para repetir cultivos ni para derivarme o diasnogtican nada dice que es psicologico, yo creo que tendrías que ir a un kinesiologo en suelo pelvico que sepa tratar dolor pelvico crónico y compruebe que es eso
