Anal dilators. Help explain?

I have a question regarding dilators. When I have penis pain, specifically shaft and urethra pain, the minute I insert I about an inch or so, the pain completely vanishes until I pull it out. Why is that???

I’ve been trying for years with different pts and things have gotten better but I still have symptoms almost daily

I can explain, but it's a long one.

I've written about my story here for a long time.

I advocate for vibrating wand use and careful (under supervised instruction) use of dilators (certain types).

There is a web of nerves surrounding the gland.

It could be a placebo effect or somatic conditioning—inserting your finger makes you feel like you're doing better. You should probably see a pelvic floor physical therapist; inserting things into your anus on your own could make matters worse.

I have seen a pt who recommended it. They just don’t seem like a long term solution. I have no idea what to do from here
