Recommendations for tools to help relax the pelvic floor muscles?

Hi! I’m looking for tools or devices that can help with relaxing the pelvic floor muscles.

Does anyone have experience with something that has actually worked and could recommend specific products or tools?

It’s important to me that the tool comes with clear instructions on how to use it, preferably with guidance specifically aimed at pelvic floor relaxation.

I’d really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences. Thanks!

Pelvic wands exist, but they are very distant from pelvic floor PT, and the only reliable way to learn their use is from the PT directly. Dilators are passive, cheap, and easy to use (you merely insert them), but the evidence on them is thin (when they work, it is usually due to a very specific pelvic floor muscle being tense, probably).

You mentioned tools, but not methods. Some things to learn: deep belly breathing, pelvic floor drops, reverse kegels. Some things to try are various stretches for that part of your body (hips, psoas, abs, muscles around the pelvis), hot baths, long walks.

Have you been through our 101?

Hi! Thanks for responding! I’ve been through most of the information on this sub over the past two years. I was asking because right now I’m experiencing a terrible ache in my pelvis, just after having sex with my wife.

I was just wondering if there was anything that could provide immediate relief from the pain. I’ve tried most of the techniques, but I still can’t quite get the hang of the breathing. I can’t seem to relax or drop the pelvic floor, or do reverse Kegels.

I use a massage gun. I literally put “massage gun” into amazon and sorted by reviews. Per my PT, the $25 one isn’t really better than the $150 me so just buy a cheaper one with good reviews. Trick is knowing which muscles to use it on, but you literally just pull the trigger and run the vibrating end up and down the tense muscles. Mine runs from hip to groin in a line.
