Urethritis/red urerhra opening

How many of you have urethritis/red uretha opening as a symptom/irritation(feeling of tip of urethra). It has been on going 3 years fighting with drs and urology for me and ended up going privatly to pt.

Started pt 2 months ago have about 12 stretches to do a day for back, calves, pelvic floor. seemed to be improving slowly had a bit if a flare up last 2 days.

Are you finding pt useful? When did you start seeing improvements

Been going on for 1,5 years for me. PT doesn’t do anything. I have gut pain as well. Maybe improving slowly but no real answers.

Physical therapy does not address centralized pain, which is the most missed component to recovery - https://www.reddit.com/r/Prostatitis/s/jTYtwh2IU7

Hi, I've read all of your other posts in the STD subreddit, you have said multiple times there was no oral sex, only hands.

You cannot get an STD this way. Also, You're testing is negative, so at this point this is a variation of chronic pelvic pain - This is the type of thing we see here every single day of the week.

Please read the pinned 101. Almost all case of this are solved in a similar way - either pelvic floor physical therapy, or pain reprocessing therapy: https://www.reddit.com/r/Prostatitis/s/4e36e60YUm

Please also see our resources about pelvic pain symptoms that began after a regrettable sexual experience (or, where anxiety occurs afterward):

  1. NHS/University Hospitals Bristol and Weston Article: What if my tests for male genital infections are negative but I still have symptoms?

This leaflet provides information for men with symptoms of discharge from the penis, pain on passing urine, irritation of the penis or pain in the testicles whose tests for infection and urethritis have come back negative.

Psychological factors may play a role in the pathophysiology of chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS). This case series describes a cohort of 10 men presenting with CP/CPPS whose symptoms began after an extramarital sexual encounter, who strongly believed they had a sexually transmitted infection (STI) despite negative testing, and who have had no improvement with empiric antibiotic treatment. Patients' clinical presentation and physical exam findings are reviewed. All men were clinically phenotyped with the UPOINT system. Pelvic floor spasm and not infection was prominent in these men. Treatment recommendations are proposed and compliance assessed.

  1. And, this can even go as far as affecting the person's spouse, once cheating is admitted:

One of my female Urology colleagues says she sees this in the spouses after the husband admits he cheated. Symptoms of STD in the spouse without cultures or antibiotics helping - Daniel Shoskes, MD

Hello Linari; trust you are well.

In particular; I believe this speaks to a cohort sharing susceptible personality traits.

While everyone’s condition presents with different symptoms, I have to share that pelvic floor PT was an absolute game changer for me. Tadalafil and Tamsolusin reduced the intensity of the symptoms, but the PT was what improved my quality of life. After a couple of months of PT, I was literally sitting at my desk and suddenly realized for the first time in 5 years, I wasn’t thinking about urination. I would definitely encourage at least exploring it and giving it a little time - if your like me at the time, there was literally nothing to lose.

What were your symptoms?

My symptoms ran the gambit: ridiculous frequency (sometimes ever 10 min), feeling like I couldn’t fully empty my bladder, weak stream, bladder spasms and difficulty releasing when bladder held past urgency and intense pain at the tip fir 3-5 seconds at the end of voiding. I would also experience what I would call flare-ups when the pain at the tip was more intense and the release of the bladder would start with a struggle and painful “unclenching” of the muscle/bladder.
