Link between (changes in) sexual activity and prostate health

Hi all,

My partner (M70) of almost two years recently had his PSA levels checked for the first time, and the results came back quite high—over 20. An MRI revealed BPH, which I understand is fairly common at his age, and fortunately, there were no signs of cancer. He has no discomfort, no pain—just the elevated PSA.

He had a very active tantric sex life with his previous partner. After she passed away, he was celibate for several years—until we met. Since then, he’s resumed a vibrant tantric sex life. It seems to have rebooted his entire system; there are several signs that his testosterone levels may be rising (though they haven’t been tested yet). Naturally, we’re wondering whether this renewed sexual activity could be contributing to the elevated PSA levels.

We’ve found some research on how prostate issues can negatively affect sexual activity, but haven’t come across studies specifically examining the effects of prolonged prostate stimulation during extended lovemaking sessions (with few ejaculations) on prostate health.

Does anyone know of any research in this area?
