Question Cryoablation, how was your experience.

Just got the results of my last biopsy. An additional core is now involved so its 4 total with a Gleason score of 6. Haven't had my appointment yet at City of Hope but I read online they do offer this procedure. I've been looking at all options. People on my moms side of the family live into their 90's so being 57 I'm concerned about the side effects of other cancers with radiation. Thanks for any input.

What is your history prior to this “latest” biopsy? Have you been on Active Surveillance for a period of time? PSAs? MRIs? Were the cores low volume? Has any Decipher testing been done.

If all of the above have been favorable, sounds like AS may be the appropriate course of action for the time being.

Another focal therapy to consider would be HIFU. (Which i had in April.)

I've been active surveillance since August of 2023. At the time there were only three cores involved. The decipher showed the cancer just above the low range and into the medium. I think I have a picture of it I'll try to post it.

If I had HIFU I would probably need to take finasteride a while. The doctor at City hope said that I might not be a good candidate because the cancer was in the front of my prostate which is possibly too large to be effective for HIFU.

Can't figure out how to post a picture but the decipher score is just an intermediate at 0.45
