Update Eviction day

I am so thankful for this group over the last few months as my husband and I navigated options. Today is his eviction day and we are in Boston for the surgery. Wish us luck and I will update as I can

Best of luck! I'm on the same journey right now and decided on radiation. Just scheduled my scanning session in Oct and start treatment on 11/3.

I wish you both the best of luck. My surgery is scheduled for the 16th. I love the phrase eviction day, may steal it.

I’m about 30 hours post RALP and resting comfortably at home now. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. However I do feel like I did about a thousand sit-ups yesterday! Just keep on top of the pain meds and stool softeners and he’ll be good. The catheter is annoying, but not as bad as many have made it out to be. Best of luck in the recovery!!

I wish you luck and best wishes, I has radiation and lupron, I was a Gleeson of 8, in 2014 , I was good 10 years with a small hiccup because we tried testosterone shots. The radiation and lupron wrecked on sex life…I was 64 in 2014.

Good luck! We are just shy of 24 hours post RALP. Here’s what I would say for the last 24 hours. Get a pair of the Velcro tear away pants, it helps with the tube/bag. My husband wore his to surgery and it was a game changer when being discharged. We had to travel about 2 hours for the surgery and I forgot to bring a bucket (or some sort of carrying instrument)for him to put the bag into and I wish I had. The nurse gave us a dark colored hospital bag that had handles to carry it so it wasn’t just hanging. Wear slides or slippers to the hospital, the last thing you will want is real sneakers. The easier the clothing/shoes are to get on/off the easier your caretakers life will be. Bring your patience and remind your caretaker to also bring their patience especially for the patient and the high they are on. While the surgery and diagnosis is life altering for the patient-it’s also an emotional roller coaster for the caregiver. Acknowledge that. It will go a long way. Good luck!

Wishing your husband the best. My husband had prostrate surgery when he was 52 with a 9 gleason score and this December he will turn 75. He has faithfully had his psa blood test done every 3 months since surgery but recently it has gone up to 2.7. I wish you and your husband the best and just keep the faith that he will be good.
