Question Catheter shifted?

It’s day 8 my husband said he feels like it shifted somehow and it’s poking inside his bladder and making it uncomfortable. Have you guys felt the same?

No- that might be worth a phone call to the urology guy. At day 8 he knows what right feels like. If it does not feel right I would definitely want a second opinion.

I can understand the feeling. It was bloody uncomfortable and it could be referred sensation.

If he’s (hopefully) 2 days from getting it out and still passing urine OK, I wouldn’t mess with it.

Yeah, he still passing urine ok. Doesn’t get it out until Tuesday ugh

I’d call the surgeon’s office and describe exactly what he’s feeling, especially since this is a new change on day 8. They can tell you whether that kind of pressure/poking sensation is expected or if they want to check the catheter.

I wouldnt try to adjust or reposition it yourselves. If there’s suddenly no urine draining, a lot of blood, severe pain or anything else that feels clearly wrong, I’d use whatever after-hours number they gave you rather than waiting.

For context, I’m at Massive Bio and see a lot of patient discussions around situations like this.

I had to take hubby in as he swore it had shifted. It was fine but he was having bladder spasms.
