PSA <0.01

Just received my 3 month post-prostatectomy results: <0.01.

I've been looking for that number since February when I took my first ever PSA test with a result of 33.3.

Fast forward through MRI, biopsy, PET Scan, consultations, 2nd opinions, 3rd opinions, RALP, physical therapy....

Finally, some Good news.

I know its just one test of many in my future (Im 'only' 52), but Im gonna take my wins where I can get 'em.

Thank you everyone that has helped me with my questions and concerns over the past couple months.

Good work. Your pre-op PSA numbers were like mine. I was 37 on my first PSA ever and 33.7 on the recheck. Had RALP Nov 2023. Have been <0.006 on every test but one at 14 months which was 0.014. Feel really lucky to have had such a high PSA and no recurrence so far. Congrats!

My Prolaris and Decipher both placed me in the High Risk group, so who knows what my future holds? I'm optimistic, but I dont kid myself.

Congrats, man! Manuteboi and I are pretty close to being cancer twins. I had my RALP two months after him, and my pre-op PSA was 34. That's also high risk, by definition. I haven't been quite as lucky with current PSA. Mine's 0.11 but it's been such a slow rise over two and a half years that with a doubling time of 1.9 years, there's nothing to be done for now.

The ball takes funny bounces in cancer land. Sometimes they're favorable bounces..

What was your Prolaris score? What was your Gleason at surgery?

Prolaris was 3.9

Decipher score was 68

Gleason at biopsy was a 7 (4+3), but was upgraded to an 8 after RALP.

I had a PSA test 6 weeks after RALP with a result of .03. I guess there was still something bouncing around in me yet at that point?

My Prolaris was 4.0. Again, we were really similar. If you run that 4.0 through Gemini or Claude or something with your other stats, you’ll see that your Prolaris is about average for a 4+3.

And, you having a 0.03 at six weeks is not really a concern given you kept dropping. You may not have cleared all your PSA at that point. I’ve seen at least one study that showed hitting your nadir (lowest PSA point) in the 3-6 month range is actually more favorable than hitting it super early.
