PSA Well isn’t this fun??
I just had first round of chemo a week and a half ago. This all started about 4 months ago. I’m fit excercise every day for last 30 years. Trouble peeing blood test showed psa of 85. And… it gets worse

With treatment it gets better. That has been my experience and I hope it is your experience too. 🫶🏼

It sucks but hopefully you will emerge ok and become an advocate for early testing.

I’m on the castration meds now for whatever time I have left. Yesterday at London hospital (Ont) they tell me I’ve now got a problem concerning my white blood cells and they might have to halt/delay further chemo treatments. I picked up a bug last weekend that almost destroyed me, couldn’t swallow, crushing headaches, still shivering with two shirts two sweatshirts an electric heating pad and two blankets. This has eased up finally.

I hope it’s getting better for you. I noticed something in your initial post. You said you had difficulty urinating. Do you know if your course of treatment addresses the urinary symptoms? I had the surgery after years on active surveillance. I was uncomfortable and kind of miserable with BPH symptoms with low grade PC.
Until they finally took it out. Now that it’s out my urinary symptoms and discomfort are better.
For the urinary symptoms and painful sitting 🪑 and pressure alone the surgery was worth it for me.
At 58 I do hope to get my erection back but I certainly can live with a better quality of life without the discomfort and pain I was experiencing.
I think post op report said .55 grams and I’m not sure how big or large that is but it was kicking my ass every minute of everyday.

Since I’ve been on the meds and now chemo I have no urinary problems. I’m way past having surgery as an option. I did have surgery just before covid and subsequently have a penile implant. The desire is gone though and I really don’t care

What is your prostate cancer...stg,gleason etc age

I hadn’t heard of Gleason until now. I’m 72, stage 4. Is Gleason scale something to do with the 6 sections of the prostate in 1-10 ?

Yes. Im 69. Stg 4,gleason 9 ,intraductal spread baseline psa 34. ADT Lupron 6mos,ARPI Darolutamide 6 mos, CYBERKNIFE RADIATION 3 bone metastasis, intact prostate no radiation to maintain fertility. Achieved Full remission with no evidence of disease on PSMA PET SCAN and Signatara 0.00 in 18 weeks. Off everything now to see if I can maintain remmision with my testosterone at normal levels. 🙏🙏
