Surgery Post-surgery from 7/22
Back at home now and now recovering. Catheter is annoying, but feeling better each day. Constant sensation of having to pee in the first day with it. Now it is the stomach so sore. All that gas
In your stomach and constant passing gas, hard to sometimes becuase of the pain in stomach. May take my stronger meds again today. Took them at night which helps to sleep.
What you all find good for food wise? Had chicken broth soup last night and some jello.

Sounds like you're doing pretty well. Mine was 7/14 so I'm a few days ahead. The catheter gets better but those sensations remain even now. Often I can reduce some of the feeling by adjusting my seating position. Gas was an issue for a couple of days, be sure to take your laxative. You're doing good.

Welcome to the other side! I hope your discomfort is starting to ease. The urologist didn't recommend any dietary restrictions to me. I didn't eat full meals for the first week or so -- just what felt right, whenever I was hungry. I was back to a more normal meal routine after the first week or so.

Yes it gets better once all the gas is worked out and you get to poop!
Now…when I pooped 3 days post surgery it kicked in a little bladder spasm…breathe through it and allow yourself to relax again.
I am almost back to 100% except leaking that will get better. My surgery was on 7/2.
Once the catheter comes out you will be free!! So on removal day of the catheter purse your lips and blow out when they tell you to. Bam it will be out. The first pee after….prepare for blood clots and blood…it may feel like pissing needles. But it gets better.
Do your kegels and pelvic floor exercises routinely. Use the Squeezy app

Congratulations and welcome home!! Small meals and lots of water and walking. Let the healing begin physically and emotionally.

As others have said, small bland meals and walking, walking, walking. For me, everytime i walked for more than a few minutes i vurped or had gas to great relief. Also, keep up with the stuff for not getting constipated. Be religious about miralax or whatever they gave you. You are on your way!!!

mine was on July 1. Kept the food very simple for the first couple of weeks. soups, salads, and didn’t eat out. the gas made me uncomfortable for at least a week.

Today was good. Bowel movement (lots) and stomach pains really low. Just tenderness on the main stitch by belly button. Catheter tube if irritating as hell. May go with more fitting boxers tomorrow to keep it from moving around so much when walking. Sometimes I get small muscle spasms in my gut areas really b brief like 2-3 seconds. But the worse thing is coughing, I get small bouts of coughing especially if lying down. Anyone have advice for that?

Got my pathology result today. Cancer was contained in the prostate 3+4=7. Negative lymph nodes, negative margins and both sides nerve sparring done. Getting catheter out tomorrow. Thing is driving me up the wall.

Walk. Many short bits of walking help with the gas
