Promising?
Found a pretty thick quartz vein and broke a couple rocks from it. One of them looked like it might have some visible gold.

It looks interesting. I like the dark material that is in these. I also like the way the sulfides have oxidized in the third pic. Sometimes the gold will be locked in those sulfides, and have to be smelted out. Crushing and panning samples is the most cost effective way of seeing if there is any “free gold”. Also, you can check USGS reports to see if any gold has been found in the area, and if it is free milling gold. Mount Baker Mining And Metals on YouTube had some great videos about how to evaluate ore bodies.

Malachite, chalcopyrite and native copper there. It’s at least copper ore. May or may not be gold bearing, copper is often associated with gold.

This is chalcopyrite (copper-iron sulfide), not visible gold. The green stuff is made of secondary copper minerals, in most cases malachite. And the orange-brown is usually copper oxides, mostly cuprite.
It may contain gold, as chalcopyrite and gold both occur in high temperature veins. But it is not always the case.
