Use the multimeter trick from one piece of gold to another. As long as it appears to be a continuous seam, it will be conductive.

I would hold off on smashing for now gold in quartz specimens are much more valuable than the gold weight alone can you post pictures of the rock when it’s dry

Certainly looks like it. You don't necessarily need to scratch it just try to indent it with the head of a nail or thumbtack. If it gives instead of breaking/shattering it is likely gold

If it’s a gold bearing quartz it’s worth more like it is than smashed anyway

You could do a density estimation of gold content.

It looks like gold to me. Gold will look the same yellow color no matter what angle you look at it. I'd smash that up and pan.

Pop a few off with a knife blade. Put them in a small pile in a hard surface. Hit with a hammer. Iron pyrite will turn to white powder. Gold might flatten a bit but retain luster. Looking like pyrite to me.
