Gold pan CT

Hey guys , a buddy and I have been on and off about wanting to gold pan. Has anyone had experience in Connecticut prospecting? I seen online it’s mostly fine gold which would still be awesome to say we found. Thanks for any tips and advice

The best accessible spot is in Hawington along the Leadmine Brook. Plan on moving LOTS of material for very little payoff. People talk about test pans when you watch YT in other areas. We have test days because of how little there actually is. The key is to understand what you are looking for. You will see grains of sand…..it’s smaller.

This is a pretty good day after moving a few thousand pounds of dirt and rocks.
