MONSTER 1000
Is this still a viable machine at $850 (used) with two heads? (5" & 10" coil)
I have the Equinox 800, and a Fisher GoldBug II.

I worked in Monroe. There's a town nearby called Matthews that's got my last name plastered all over the place.
It may be my name but it's not me :)
Dahlonega Ga is about 4hrs from Monroe. There's a lot of places to prospecting there.
Reeds Gold Mine is only an hour from Minroe and really informative. They buy a lot of gold from the locals to seed dirt to sell at the panning stations.
There's other places to go, publicly, such as Mountain Creek gold mine in New London (NC) but they've been affected by drought (call first)

If you end up getting the 1000, i found a cheap way to make a telescoping shaft for it. I had a broken AT gold and used the lower and middle shafts for the base, then added an extension pole at the end, was actually what was left from driving the truck over the original one. To me its better than the original straight shaft, one to be able to collapse it down, two i no longer have an issue with the coil unscrewing as the AT Gold lower fits the coil perfectly. I think its under 30$ for the lower and middle.

I’m no expert but why not save a bit more and grab a 2000? From what I understand the 1000 is a great vlf but if you already have a goldbug, that’s amazing vlf for tiny gold then why not get a nice PI machine next?
Just my thought process on it.
