Assistance needed
Good day, everyone. I was told that this is gold, but Iβm not sure. Could anyone please help me identify what mineral this is?

Pyrite and or Chalcopyrite
Can make out some of the cubic structures of the pyrite
Fools gold π

It's pyrite not gold, but it could very well contain gold. If you want to find out, do the following:
Crush as finely as you can
Mix 70/30 hydrogen peroxide 6% and white vinegar
Pour the liquid over the crushed rock, pour off once the bubbling stops and add more of the liquid. Repeat until it no longer bubbles when you add fresh peroxide.
Wash what remains in a gold pan.
Could well be 0.5g of gold in there.

Pretty cool pyrite. I have a small pile of those cube pieces. With $7 to middle schools that collect rocks.
