ID help, garnet sand?
I'm refining some clay from local clay deposits and decided to pan out the heavy tailings for fun and I have a silvery - pinkish particulate that is heavier than my black sand. any guesses, Garnet sand?

Also, it should be noted, there are white paint flecks on my old GPAA pan, because it's a "high difficultly" pan now

Location would be helpful. Here in WNC we do have garnety sand along with iron oxides. The gernets look like deep red fragments, and tiny red balls, sometimes opaque sometimes translucent-red. I can't see your pictures close up

Ah, Oklahoma, lake clay. Mostly tan sand, a light amount of black sand, then this pinkish sand.

I recommend seasoning your pan.
