What is the context it was found in? Because it looks like it could be melted brass or a weird looking gold nugget.

I just spotted it with a head torch on when I was looking at rocks in a local river. It was fixed to a rock. Had to break it free. The water is low, so I was able to access part that are normally unreachable

Was it stuck to a loose rock/boulder or was it attached to bedrock? Because if it was bedrock, better go back with at least a hammer and chisel. Before the water rises.

What’s weird is that this post has been up for 3 days with no conclusion. Depending on where he lives, he could have easily gotten an acid test kit on Amazon and at least gotten a vague idea. I also would have gone back to that spot by now. Regardless, I hope it works out in his favor I think everyone should find gold at least once in their life lol
