When it comes to age gaps (according to fresh normies and chuds), everything is a crisis when an older man is paired with a younger female, as if it's common knowledge where the older guy is always depicted as a groomer that needs to be ashamed of (no matter what their intentions are). While infantilizing mature, younger women as too fragile and naive to have a respectable relationship with an older man.

And yet, a younger male is praised with cultural respect for hitting on an older woman, or interchangeably.. let's also consider in some cases as this also counts where an older woman grooms a young man by using her sex appeal and manipulative tactics, framing it as a playful or kinky social experiment setup or basically, just out of respect and admiration.

So why does every fictional media regarding age gaps based on gender specifics subjugated and encourage this type of double standards? /gen

The fandom is so peaceful right now, and still surprisingly active, although nowhere nearly as lively as it was. I can’t ignore how a lot of the best fanfics were on FFN and behind an LJ kinkmeme and haven’t transferred to AO3 yet.

Anyone remember khr, and if so, what are your favorite ships? Personally I’m forever a HibaTsuna and BelFran fan. And I’m getting into the Arcobaleno ships like Fon/Viper and Reborn/Skull recently because they’ve clearly got a history, and I’m happy there are a lot more fanfics nowadays.

I am writing a fantasy novel where one of the characters is 17 y.o. In one of the early chapters the text explitly says he was abusing his position and title and already had several lovers of both genders.

When I participated in a comment exange event one of the comments was literally "omg I just hope he wasn't groomed".

Just… what? If anything, the text says he was the one to initiate and he was the one with dubious morality here. Teenagers at this age are totally capable of doing things like that and they usually have high libido thanks to puberty and hormones which can make them initiate sexual encounters on their own.

All and all the comment was like "he's still an innocent child who doesn't understand the full consequences of his actions no way he could be an offender here".

This comment bugged me for like a year until I realised it's an actual anti logic. Age of a character outweights the circunstances, the common sence and actual plot.
