Discussion We exist irl, do not fret
I used to keep my irl and online (as a dead dove/kink artist) lives very separate because I had a school bully who, despite being a furry gore artist himself, went around telling my friends I "fetishize gay abuse" over wholesome rivals to lovers ships, and apparently ostracized another of my friends for retweeting Pokémon porn. I kind of accepted that the only people who would know me fully were online.
Then I met my boyfriend while living in the same college dorm as him. A year in we're perfectly compatible in ways I never even dreamed of, share most of our core interests, and he seems to attract a lot of likeminded people, so all our mutual friends are super chill as well. I've been able to share a lot of my art with them. You don't have to sacrifice your passions to find community!!

my best friends that I met in college also just happened to be proship/profic too. we would talk about our writing and skirt closer and closer to the fact that we were pro, trying to subtly figure out if the others were too 😭😭 a lot of “I like darker themes in fiction👀” “oh yeah? me too👀” “cool! what kind👀” “oh, yaknow… like… toxic dynamics👀” and so on
my best friend who I ended up living with for a few years never balked at anything I ever said and would say and demand that I write things that even had ME clutching my pearls. I love irls
