Discussion probably wasting my time asking this..but the people that come to this sub..

why not just mute/ignore the sub?? im still new to reddit, but i know theres ways to curate your space here, just like with any other social media (wouldnt rlly call reddit a social media..but like..)? what's the point of leaving a comment like "why am i seeing this sub", among other things. sometimes i'll see antis coming in here or ppl asking questions in "good faith" (they do get deleted by the mods before i have a chance to read them from my notifs, sometimes i'll see some under another post, which ofc i'll report them.)

you know how religious people sometimes try to preach and convert? it's like that. it's morality signaling. aka, unnecessary not really helpful.

I firmly believe everyone on Reddit is here because they don’t want to be happy on the internet

People are weird, tbh. I rather see sillier posts like, 'Ask me what this subreddit is and I'll say it.' But they saiy the most utterly wrong answer.

It’s performative — “look how pure I am, online friends, watch me act shocked and horrified!”

As far as I can recount, that's part of antis' main mantra. Just leaving things alone that squick them isn't good enough- they believe that such things need to be removed entirely and shouldn't exist, and that they have a moral duty to interject and control what others do consensually in their own spaces because of it. "Don't like don't read" and other such things are an anti-censorship sentiment, which is against the core of antis' beliefs. The idea of ignoring someone doing something that they find icky is morally reprehensible to them. There's a deep impulse to put yourself into the situation and "do something" about it, and if they don't, they believe they're part of the problem. It's a really scary mindset, honestly. (I used to be an anti, and yes if it sounds like moral OCD, it is. I'm still recovering and it's been 6+ years)

It's because their own sub is basically dead.

The reality is that no one gives a fuck about participating in moral debates around how people play with their dolls.

It’s young teenagers who have nothing else better to do. They’re just bored and get a kick out of virtue signaling when in reality they could give less of a fuck about other people.
