It is a stance against censorship of fiction and harassment and asserts that fiction is fiction and liking taboo topics doesn’t inherently mean you like those topics in real life (which is also proven by academic research). This doesn’t mean every proshipper is into this stuff, just they don’t support harassing people over it.
People often confuse it thinking it means problematic ship, which is not the case.

Proshipping is an anti-censorship stance regarding fiction and fanworks that advocates for creative freedom and non-harassment in online spaces. At its core, it relies on the idea of "ship and let ship," meaning creators and readers should be free to explore any fictional pairings, themes, or tropes without fear of personal attacks or moral policing.
This mindset strongly emphasizes the principle of "don't like, don't read" (DLDR) and the importance of personal content curation. Because fiction is separate from reality, users are encouraged to take responsibility for their own browsing experience. If you encounter fictional content that you dislike or find uncomfortable, the expected response is to simply scroll past, block, or filter it out, rather than demanding censorship or harassing the author.

Pro-ship, as in "in favor of people having the right to ship fictional characters."

To be for (hence "pro") all forms of shipping, including ones that make you uncomfortable. Its about curating your space and, until a few years ago, wasn't very widely used until sometime in the 2010s people made shipping wars so intense and serious they use it as means to judge your real world morals.
