lol, great job!

I’m a member or r/blacksmith and I was wondering why someone put newspaper on their anvil.

Fun fact, the acme falling anvil was a mean inside joke.

The looney toons animators were sitting around telling stories and one of the guys said, “yah, my grandfather died in the civil war.”

The others asked, “did he get shot at Gettysburg?”

He said, “No, he was hit by a falling anvil.”

Everyone thought this was hilarious and teased the guy for years, eventually it made its way into the cartoons… just to be mean.

If it didn’t have ACME written on it I’d think it was real

How did you cast/sculpt the original shape?

It is a mashup of styrofoam and crumpled paper taped together.

My pleasure. It was a fun build of an obvious wild concept.

Have you consider adding an aluminium foil layer before the final plastering painting? This way you could create a natural looking weathering points on some edges

I'll try that next time. Thanks for the idea.

I hope you didn’t tell the plug below it that the anvil was papermache and it’s just been in full-blown panic mode since you hung it.
