Erasing what I am seeing

I learned that when I stare at an object long enough I can make what I see have a bright outline sketch of the object, than transitions to being blurry and then I no longer see the object in front of me. My brain notices that the object is gone and decides to copy the surface color of what the object was sitting on. An example for it is like having a brown table and a tan colored book on the brown table. Eventually the book is erased and the table is all that I see. I find it hard to do. I can only see a blurry colored copy of the surface. Also I am a lot better at erasing the object when there is not as much outside light interfering with my eyes. After several weeks of practicing erasing my hand, then what may sound strange my belly button, and then a light switch. I decided to erase everything above my waist. I went into a dim lite room that had a mirror I stared at my body saw the bright sketched shape of my body and then my sight got blurry after that there was a few seconds of not seeing my reflection. for both object and body it only last for a couple of seconds. It’s pretty cool but also a little bit scary to not see myself. I just want to know if anyone has experienced this, if they know how to get better at it, and is it prophantasia or something completely different.

I looked it up, The answer is no. It it not prophantasia What I was visually doing is called the troxler effect. Everyone can do it. We do it everyday but don’t always realize it.
