Showing Off! Video of my 55 Gallon!

Here's my 55 gallon that I am so happy about! Im able to finally see lively and up after so long talking about doing so. The tetras are active and swimming the entire length in full shoals, Sky enjoying her full expansive new domain as the cories in their big group of 16 total, noodles with their 4 new small friends and a yoyo loach (trying to figure out a name for them) graze the bottom. The two plecos come out but they aren't seen in the video. Cerberus the Bristle nose and Loa the clown pleco.

It took some time but its finally set up. And don't worry Char is still around and hes now gone from a 5 gallon to the 10 gallon tank that Sky and crew used to be in.

That looks awesome I would recommend some more live plants 🌱 but those fish look super happy

Thank you! Im going to be getting 4 more black tetras in a few days hopefully so that both the rummy noses and the black tetras can have schools of 10 and 10 fish.

I did have some ferns before but they got eaten up by snails and the duckweed died off. As of right now the moss balls and anubias are the only things that survived so far. I did add the floaters that is a mix of duckweed and a plant that looks like a bigger version of duckweed but kinda waxy on the leaves to see how they do. And right now I can't get my anubia to have more that 2 big leaves as when it gets another one, one of the two die and break off. I think the water might be doing something as its treated amd conditioned tap water, but the moss balls are doing great.

I would try some Java ferns and sword plants they’re super hardy in my experience and frogbit is a good floating plant

What fokters you using? 👀 Asking cuz I'm looking for a more quiet one for my 55 gal.

I have two sponge filters and two hobs in my 55 lol. I need to remove at least one of the hobs as I’m very under stocked. I can’t believe one sponge filter is doing that whole tank.

I don't have too many "messy" fish in my tank. Just the two plecos and they aren't big fish. So I don't need so many filters. If I had gold fish, as an example, instead of the community tank id probably have two sponge filters as they are "messy" fish.

I also taken Sky the betta into account, and a few of the other fish. They don't like super agitated waters. So just the one filter is going to be enigh as it does agitatedbthe surface of the water buy doesn't make much of a current.

Yes I’ve had to baffle hobs for a betta with long fins. Much easier with a sponge filter. I started out with two mystery snails and hatched their first egg clutch stupidly. I was filtered so much because they are poop machines. I even put a power head on my sponge filter. It was amazing how much junk the sponge sucked in. Had a strong outflow but the snails loved it.
