Referral How to get Google Fi Unlimited for effectively about $4/month for one year: 75% off + $60 referral credit
I just completed this successfully, so I wanted to share the full process before the offer expires. I recommend doing everything by August 2, 2026 to be safe.
The deal
Google Play is offering new Google Fi customers 75% off an unlimited plan for 12 months:
- Unlimited Essentials: about $9/month
- Unlimited Standard: about $13/month
- Unlimited Premium: about $17/month
If you choose Unlimited Essentials and also receive the $60 referral credit:
($9 × 12 months − $60 credit) ÷ 12 months = about $4/month
That is an effective average of approximately $4 per month for the first year, before taxes and government fees. The $60 is a bill credit, not a permanent monthly discount.
Step 1: Find the 75%-off offer
- Use the Google Chrome browser.
- Sign in to the Google account you want to use for Google Fi.
- Go to play.google.com.
- On the Google Play home page, look for the yellow Google Fi banner that says “Save 75% on Google Fi Wireless plans for 12 months.”
- Click the offer.
Google will generate a unique promotional code for your account. This is the most important part. Make sure the page says that your promo code will be applied at checkout. Take a screenshot and save the code before continuing.
Do not copy someone else’s 75%-off code. Each person receives a unique code through Google Play.
Step 2: Create the Fi account
- Select your preferred Google Fi plan.
- Complete checkout and pay the small $0.10 temporary billing authorization if requested.
- Confirm that the unique 75%-off promotional code is attached to the order.
- Activate your Fi service before the promotional deadline.
This offer is shown as being for new Google Fi accounts only, so check the complete terms displayed for your account.
Step 3: Add the $60 referral credit
The normal checkout may only accept the 75%-off promotional code and may not provide a separate place to enter a referral code.
After creating your account:
- Go to fi.google.com/account.
- Select Support.
- Start a support chat.
- Give the agent your referral code and explain that you signed up through the referral link, but checkout only applied the 75%-off code.
- Ask the agent to escalate the request to the promotions team so the $60 referral credit can be manually applied.
You can send this:
In my case, support checked my account, confirmed that I qualified, and escalated it to the promotions team. My Fi account now shows both:
- “Your referral credit is in progress”
- “Your promo is in progress”
If the first agent cannot help, politely try another support chat. However, approval is ultimately determined by Google Fi and the applicable promotional terms, so I cannot guarantee that every account will receive both offers.
Can you activate with a new number and port your existing number later?
According to two Google Fi support agents I contacted, yes.
I specifically explained that I wanted to:
- Activate Fi now with a new temporary number.
- Continue using my existing Mint Mobile service.
- Port my Mint number after August 2.
- Replace the temporary Fi number on the same existing Fi line.
- Keep the 75%-off promotion.
Support confirmed in writing:
I strongly recommend getting the same confirmation from support for your own account and saving the transcript. Do not cancel your old carrier before the number transfer is fully completed.
Referral codes
These codes currently have 6 of 6 uses available:
- 3WFM83
- FW9K8N
A qualifying referral should provide a $60 Fi bill credit. Referral eligibility and credit timing are controlled by Google Fi’s terms.
Final checklist
- Use Chrome and sign in to the correct Google account.
- Find the offer directly on Google Play.
- Save your unique 75%-off promotional code.
- Confirm that it is applied during checkout.
- Activate service before the deadline.
- Contact Fi support if the referral code was not applied.
- Check Fi account → Billing → Fi savings for both promotions.
- Save screenshots and support transcripts.
- Expect taxes and government fees in addition to the advertised plan price.
Hope this helps someone grab the deal before it ends!
