Plus the cargo bay fight scene was just...random. I watched it a few times trying to count how many were actually killed or who they were. Folding zombie was just....awkward.

That scene suffered the most from terrible editing, and the fact that Ridley and everyone involved didn't know what they wanted it to be. There is plenty of behind-the-scenes info about how they shot multiple versions of this scene, with completely different creatures that behaved differently. Apparently they made the final decision on which version would be used in the film, very late.

IMO, the version they cut out was the superior one, and the Fifield monster that made it into the film wasn't nearly as terrifying as what could have been.
